about me

Hello! My name is Mary Grace Schmid. Originally from Michigan, I moved to Waco in 2015 to attend Baylor University, where I discovered my passion for storytelling and strategic communication. After exploring different majors, I found my home in Journalism, Public Relations, and New Media, earning my degree in 2019 with a concentration in Public Relations and a minor in Political Science.

During my time at Baylor, I stayed actively involved on campus. As a member of Student Foundation, I helped raise money for student scholarships and served as apparel chair for the “Bearathon,” a half marathon that generates thousands of dollars in scholarship funds each year. I was also a member of Alpha Delta Pi’s Zeta Chi chapter, serving on the Alumni Relations and Public Relations Committees. These experiences strengthened my leadership, creativity, and ability to connect with others through meaningful communication.

Professionally, I’m drawn to stories that are both relatable and impactful. In a world overflowing with information, I aim to highlight voices and perspectives that deserve to be heard—delivering them in ways that are clear, accessible, and engaging. My career has taken me from creating social media content for a minor league baseball team to serving as a public information coordinator for a government agency. Along the way, I’ve learned to adapt quickly, think critically, and continuously refine my communication skills.

Outside of work, I love spending time outdoors, exploring local parks, practicing photography, listening to music, and hanging out with my cat, Kingston.
